Tonight during a stake meeting one of the leaders wanted to know if I wanted to hear some colossal news. My thoughts went from her… pregnant or moving, to me… being released – when my thoughts were interrupted with the news of President Hinckley’s death. It took me so off guard that my eyes swelled with tears and I couldn’t even form a sentence.
My news giver was smiley and bubbly and I almost felt she was irreverent until I began listening to her take on the news. She said can you imagine the reunion going on right now (and I thought of Pres. & Sis. Hinckley… I’m shallow)… she went on to mention the Savior and President Hinkley. I can’t remember her words after that because my mind started working again.
He’s won. He’s finished the race. Well done, thou good and faithful servant. Who else deserves to hear those words more than he does. What an incredible man. His wit, wisdom, example, dedication (boy, this list could be endless).
I guess the purpose of this post is just to acknowledge my love for this incredible man. I feel blessed.
… President Monson. I can’t wait. Heavenly Father has prepared another great man. Wow.
