Let's say...

Let's say you make arrangements with another parent to drive one way to a dance about 45 minutes away over a mountain pass. When you dropped off your child at their house there are three kids to be driven. You asses the situation and decide to pick them up in the car but at 11pm, when you arrive at the dance there are actually 8 kids (4 girls and 4 boys) that need a ride home and you have 4 squeezy spaces - it's a Honda. What would you do? I'll cross off a couple of options for you... No other parent is willing/available to come and pick up kids and everyone else at the dance from our side of the mountain already has a full van going home.

Let me know what you would have done, and then I'll tell you what actually ended up happening. Although, maybe by tomorrow this won't seem as serious as it did tonight.

Wow! I remember those dances that were so far away. And somehow, intelligent as we were, we never considered those things like how many seat belts there were in a car. You get my amazing mom award just for driving 45 min to pick them up. You get a second award for getting everyone home in one piece.

Back in the days when I was a youth we would have just sqeezed everyone in and driven extra slow to avoid potholes and police. Of course it wasn't parents driving back then since we didn't have all those restrictions in the 80s.
We have carpool problems in our ward too so I'm looking forward to hear what you came up with!

My hubby just said to me "doesn't that just sound like something that would happen to Moana?"
So sad. So true.
Love you!
