Interjection

We all have our little phrase we use when something is "cool" or surprises us. I usually say something between "groovy" or "holy moly bajoly". It used to to "yippie skippie" or something silly like that. Lately Taleah has been saying "holy golly". It cracks me up everytime since her 'l' sound still comes out sounding like a 'w'.

Jump Rope

Erina is consumed with jumping rope. She can't consistantly get it going, but today she jumped over 100 times. (She loves counting, too.) I love to watch the learning process. She wants to do better so she keeps trying. It works. I need to remember that.

At the beginning

Today was Erina's last day of kindergarten and tomorrow is Megan's graduation from high school. I remember Megan and her adventures through elementary school: new teachers and classmates, library day, performing arts, multiplication tables, book reports, science camp, song flute, California missions, ROPES... baptism, young womens, first dance... more teachers, more classmates, more reports and now graduation. Isn't life a fun ride. I feel like I'm seeing the extremes. With Erina I'm very comfortable with where she is and what's ahead for her. I've been there with the older girls, but where will the next 12 years take Megan. I'm not worried about her. She's amazing! She loves life and the gospel. What a perfect way to live life.

Castles vs. Rockets

Last night the little ones were looking at books before bed. Taleah had chosen a birthday planning book. (go figure) They've been planning their bithdays for the past 6 months. Anyways, Taleah loved the castle that had white frosting and sprinkles while Erina loved the brown (chocolate) rocket. Taleah was trying to convince her that the castle with sprinkles was beautiful and should be the best one. Erina told her that even if it was pretty on the outside, that didn't mean the inside would taste good. The wisdom of children.

Yes, I paid $4.39 a gallon for gas today which brought my total to $89.22. Considering I only drove 278 miles, it's costing me $0.32 per mile to drive the van. UGH!
