Another Thank You

My ward is amazing... (with help from Heavenly Father, I'm sure of it) I could stop there, but here's the story.

Since we currently do not have a ward activity chairman it falls on David (the counselor over the calling) to cover the bases. Saturday he called me from a stake merit badge workshop when he remembered that our ward was in charge refreshments for the stake Christmas activity Sunday night. His thought, of course was to get ice cream bars and call it good. Really. It works for the stake YM/YW activities. Haha!

I told him I would send out an email asking for cookie/brownie-ish type donations. By Sunday afternoon I had only 4 replies. I called one friend and between us we divied up tablecothes, decorations, paper goods, etc. Then we started baking. Well I'm sure you're aware that you can only get so many batches of goodies through your oven in a couple of hours. I started making the cookies smaller in hopes that they would go farther.

Since David was "in charge" he went and I stayed home to put the little ones down. I was so anxious and concerned that there would be enough refreshments to meet the needs. When he came home all I wanted to know was if there were enough. He said by the time he got to the stake center there were plates of goodies all over the kitchen. He put them on platters to be moved to the serving tables after the program, but when he returned to the kitchen at the end of the program the kitchen was full again of more goodies.

I know Heavenly Father blessed us by touching the hearts and hands of others to make our part of the evening successful.
